Be Home Early

Meditative, Poem0 comments

Phone call comes
“Be home early”.
Dishes in sink.
I flinch. I scurry.

Scraped and rinsed,
The washers loaded.
Counters cleaned.
Won’t be scolded.

Pleased she be
on walking in;
Cause she won’t see
The mess it’s been.
